wouldn’t trust a Welsh lawyer with a used plate of whelks…

Dear Mr Aidoo

Thank you for your mail. I have given the options some consideration and feel that we should probably progress matters quickly rather than waiting until my doctor permits me to fly again.

I have dismissed the “diplomatic channel” option, the thought of my 3.5 Million dollars competing for space in a diplomatic bag with guns, cocaine and who knows what else is not a comforting one. Employing the services of a local attorney would therefore seem to be the only option, my only concern is can such a person be trusted? I certainly wouldn’t trust a Welsh lawyer with a used plate of whelks, let alone 3.5 Million dollars, but perhaps the profession is held in higher regard in Ghana.

I look forward to your reply,

Kind Regards

Ethel Trellis (Mrs.)

ah, this is going to cost

Attn: Mrs.Ethel Trellis,

Madam,

We hereby acknowledge the receipt of your mail and content well noted.

Madam,If you can not be able to come down here to endorse the Fund Release Order to facilitate the transfer of your fund to your nominated bank account. ,It means that you have to engage a service of a local based attorney who will represent you to facilitate the signing on your behalf, preferable you can use our legal attorney to represent you in the assignment. But you will need to give him a power of attorney, which he would need to Notarized at the High Court before he would be able to represent you legally..

Please be informed that you will be responsible for the Notarization of the Power of Attorney at the high court of justice here in Ghana. But if you can be able to come down here in Ghana to sign this “FUND RELEASE ORDER” yourself, you do not need to pay a cent.

Note; the reason your attention is needed is because we do not dispatch such documents, as some of the said documents are sheets contained in booklets with transactions involving other clients. So you are required to come in person or to engage service of a local based attorney to represent you.

Second option; We can deliver your payment to you in London through diplomatic channel, but you are going to pay for the clearance charge over there in London..

Please kindly get back to us with your opinion, weather you prefer using a SERVICE OF A LOCAL BASED ATTORNEY or through DIPLOMATIC CHANNEL?.

Also, it is very important you give us a telephone number where to reach you.

Thanking you for banking with us. Your happiness is our greatest concern.

Sincerely Yours,

Mr.Raymond C. Aidoo

time is running out….

Dear Mrs. Trellis,

Thanks for the update.

Please it is very important that you conclude with Mr. Raymond first thing tomorrow morning as you know that time is running out and we don’t have much time on our side.

Please keep me posted as soon as you conclude with my head office.

Regards,

Mr. Frank

A change of plan…

Dear Mr. Aidoo

I’m sorry to say that my plans have had to be changed.

I was laid low by a mystery illness yesterday morning and unable to rise from bed until today, when I managed to drag myself to Dr Hatton’s surgery. He diagnosed a bad case of something and prescribed a bottle of green tonic. He has also forbidden me from flying for at least 6 weeks. I hope to be able to get a refund for my ticket, but will of course now be unable to travel to Accra for some while. Is there an alternative to me signing the documents in person or do we have to postpone things until after Christmas?

Kind Regards

Mrs. Trellis

Recovered..

Dear Mr. Wuddah

Thank you for your concern. I am considerably better than I was yesterday, perhaps the third bottle of gin was not a good idea.

I have just returned form a visit to Dr Hatton, I had planned to go yesterday but was unable to get out of bed. Anyway, he has prescribed a rather unpleasant bottle of tonic, forbidden me from flying for at least 6 week and given me a letter to that effect.

I shall now inform Mr. Aidoo of my unfortunately timed illness and ask if perhaps we can arrange an alternative means of finalizing the transaction.

Kind Regards

Ethel

Dear Mrs Trellis ,

How are you today? Hope great. I write to know if you have finalized with Mr.Aidoo?.

Please do not keep me in dark. Kindly get back to me with the situation of things as quickly as possible.

Mr.Frank.

Mr Wuddah hasn’t been listening….

Dear Ethel,

I have gone through your mail and the content is well noted.

If you will be able to come down here to Ghana to sign this document that will just be the best idea. But I have only given you the previous suggestion, in case you won’t be able to come.

But by the turn of your mail I really appreciate the fact that you can actually come to Ghana to do the signing yourself, because this will allow us see each other physically and also make arrangements to enable both of us travel back to your country for the sharing of the money in the ratio we earlier agreed on (45/55) respectively, after the signing.

Please it is also very important at this point that I get your telephone number for easier communication. You can reach me on this telephone number anytime. (+233-543457174) And also remember that on no account must you allow anyone know that I linked you with this transaction because we do not know who is who, to avoid jeopardizing our efforts so far. Ones again,it is very important that you keep this to yourself for security reasons and because of the amount involved.

Do get back to me after you conclude with your travelling agent and Mr. Aidoo too.

Best regards,
Mr. Frank

Gin! that’s the answer!

Dear Mr. Wuddah

Thank you for your inspired suggestion, I can see that you didn’t get where you are today! I have told Mr. Aidoo that I will be flying to Accra, but tonight I shall drink two bottles of gin (or possibly more, I’ve finished most of the first one already) then tomorrow I shall go to see Dr Hatton. One look at me will be enough to persuade him to write a sick note and I shall have a cast-iron excuse for not travelling to Accra.

Thank you once again for your suggestion.

Kind Regards

Ethel.
